Huge congrats on making #7 in the jam! 🥳 (would have put you even higher up ♡)

I just replayed it, with the post-jam update the game is even more fun, well done! The queen wiped my team several times, but at this point I think it was just a skill issue on my part 😅 I enjoyed the challenge though!

I AM THE TRUE HOMUNCULUS MASTER! (The post-jam patch is so good and is still decently difficult but allows much more freedom to experiment and progress)

WOW! Your game is really nice, I like it! Also, it has many humor like sounds, artworks or the concept in general. It's well made project, good job :)

But when I run it first time I caught the bug with unvisible menu of combinating the elements and I didn't be able to continue the game. Anyway, amazing entry

Thanks a lot ! Will fix that bug as soon as I can, sorry you encountered it ! :(

Thank for your kind words ! <3

Really fun game! The game has quite a polished feel to it and a lot of content, I’m impressed. The art is so unique & quirky in the best way, I love it! ❤️

Didn’t make it past the first boss either btw, but here are some notes I took:

  • Add a speed up button for the fights. I mean, I love to see the little creatures fight, but also in games like this I like to decide how long I do that. Also helps with the “grind” when rematching to get more money.
  • Show me how much ingredients I have directly in the phone. This way I don’t have go to the Homunculus Maker to check, and have better feedback in the phone seeing the numbers go up.
  • For the alchemy, if I’ve discovered a “recipe” once, always show me what the result will be for this one, when I select the combination again. Then I don’t have to remember, makes it easier to find new combinations.
  • I am sure this one is just me, but in the Homunculus Maker I always clicked on the bottom right “Return” button instead of the button in the center. I am just so used to “bottom right” == “confirm” 😅
  • I had a bug that broke the game for me, the menu just disappeared and I couldn’t interact with anything. Actually had to restart twice because of it - but I think I figured out how it happens. Seems like if you close a menu (I mean e.g. the Homunculus Maker), and then click really fast on another or the same menu, the new menu will not be shown. Screenshot below where UI is just gone.

Again, your game has very polished feel, looks beautiful, is already fun, and will be even more fun if you balance the difficulty in the beginning a bit more. Very well done! 🙌

Thanks a lot for your feedback ! It's great to hear everything you had to say. Everything* you say is completely valid and I added what was missing to my to do list. The difficulty spike and the UI bug are very frustrating ! I'll fix them asap when the jam is finished.

Thank you <3

Game is really fun. First one I had to force myself putting away to give other games a chance. Art is outstanding, music is simple but fits. Sound design could use a bit of work. And I feel the difficulty curve is a bit too steep and relies a bit too much on grinding previous fights to get good ingredients.

Well done!

Happy you've enjoyed our submission :) Thanks for taking the time to give feedback.

I'm so impressed by the amount of work you've done in such a short space of time !!

Here's what I loved :

- I was very immersed for the few 5 minutes, well done for the atmosphere of the game
- Love the character animations
- SO MUCH content, craft, stats, combats, a pretty nice progression and balancing and theme is perfectly respected!
- Gameplay is very fun, both aspect of alchemy and battle is complementary and well executed.
- Even if there's a lot of content, everything was clear and straight forward for me well done!
- Placement based on attack is smart

Here are a few subjective suggestions for improvement :

- Make it available full screen!
- Early balancing cause it's hard to grind back when you don't have any parts left at early stage
- Better phone "buying items" feedbacks (cash sounds, VFX) and even more background animations
- Moooooooooore VFX please!! VFX everywhere will add a lot of juice to your game
- Maybe more light variation/shading in the combat scene cause it looks a little bit flat comparing to the main scene.
- Heal button a little more contrasted or slight animation or make it interactable like other buttons.
- Why can we drag and not undrag item :<
- I found sometimes the info/icon hard to read/understand
- I found out frustrating to loose knowledge of an ingredients when I run out of it

Here's some few suggestions:

- Different color for the homonculus
- Be able to rename the homonculus
- Maybe colors for the tool (cause I get that it's giving a different rune color but I never remember what it is)

Thank you for your feedback, I definitely have a list of things to work later on è_é

So proud of you and us for making it to the end of the jam yeeee

This is such a standout title not just because of the amazing and alternative art but because of the absolute funk and style you guys injected into the game.

I want to preface this by saying I could NOT get passed the first boss. It took me quite a while to get past the triple team on fight 3 and then I thought I was set but the first boss or (first real fight) absolutely destroyed me and I lost all my money and I was back to square one.

I'm not a huge fan of having to grind so much and I feel like if I wanted to progress I would need to constantly grind for cash (which is even slower due to needing to pay to heal) then experiment a bunch to get cool advanced alchemy.

Don't get me wrong I love the alchemy and homunculus systems but the barrier to entry to experiment to get good stuff is a bit too high in my opinion. If there was some sort of homunculus testing ground where you could see the results of your experiment and play around with the recipes to mix and match it would have been awesome.

I wish I could have gotten further because I geuinely love this game but the grinding just wore me down too much. Other than that, 10/10.

Thank you for your feedback and your advice. Indeed, the first 3 fights can be pretty rough if you don't get it straight away. That's our bad, we should've been more graceful when people looses fights, more rewards or put some kind of testing ground like you said. We suffered from the Game Designer curse and thought our game was not that difficult ... :(

We won't update the game by fairness of the jam, but it's definitely the first thing will do after !

Thanks again for your kind words, and congrats on your game too! :)

I will 100% be back for an updated version I can't overstate how much I enjoyed this game.

Everything, starting from the intro, is so awesome! It's fun to play, full of detail and everything works well together, like the sounds for example. I don't even say anything about the art because wow

Balancing the difficulty is hard, but I think it's not a bad thing that the game  requires you to consider your team comp carefully. It's a fight club, it fits the theme that the punishment is harsh for taking risks. It stings to lose a good gorblo that you spent so much time grinding for :'( But that's how it should be.

There is so much care and attention put into everything, such a great game!

Thanks a lot for your kind feedback ! I like your vision about difficulty, and it is indeed hard to balance things :(

Thanks again !

Incredible artistic direction, really fun gameplay, fun sound design, everything is just great !

For the minors, I would say difficulty curve is a bit stiff, It's really difficult to pass the first boss.
After that, combinations with alchemy is so cool.

Really great work guys !

Honnestly I was sold just reading the game title... I can't believe you made that in only 14 days ! Great work. The art is top tier, grunge as fuck.
